We are a few days late on our weekly baby bump post as Andrew and I spent the holiday weekend at the Wisconsin Dells with his family. You may also notice a different background for the picture this week. Andrew will be posting more details and some pictures from the weekend later this week.
Here’s what Baby Jones is up to this week:
- Baby is growing and measuring 4 inches in length which is roughly the size of a navel orange.
- Baby weighs about 2 1/2 ounces.
- Baby is moving like crazy. All of his/her joints and limbs can move. (Momma is anxiously awaiting to feel the baby!)
- Baby can hiccup!
- Baby’s eyelids are still fused shut, but he/she is now beginning to sense light.
- Baby’s legs are growing longer than his/her arms so everything is becoming more proportional.
Here’s what is happening with me this week:
Symptoms
- I’m feeling great and enjoying the energy that has finally returned!
- My bump is getting bigger each day! 🙂
- Back aches have become a nuisance. I become uncomfortable sitting or standing for too long. I think I may look into my first prenatal massage soon!
- Overall, I’m doing great and am so happy to be experiencing all of the amazing changes.
Food Aversions
- Chicken
Food Cravings
- Meat
- Peanut butter
Sleep
- I’m still sleeping pretty well especially after a busy week at school and a fun, active weekend. I’m switching between my pregnancy pillow and my regular three pillows. Back and hip achiness continues at night so I constantly switch from my left side to my right throughout the night. Thankfully, I don’t have trouble falling back asleep when I wake up and my tossing and turning doesn’t seem to wake up Andrew.
Other Updates
- I officially shared our baby news with my coworkers at school last Monday. I received so many congratulatory comments and hugs! Many stopped by my classroom throughout the week to see how I was doing. It’s nice to have such thoughtful coworkers and principal.
- The first day of school is tomorrow (Tuesday, September 3rd)!
