This week was the first five-day work week at school which led to a very tired teacher by Friday! Things are going really well for me and we are anxiously looking forward to our 20 week appointment and ultrasound. (Less than four weeks to go!!) Don’t forget to place your vote for the gender of Baby Jones.
Here’s what Baby Jones is up to this week:
- Baby has grown! He/She is about 5 inches long from head to rump which is about the size of a large onion.
- Baby has gained some weight, weighing in at 5 ounces.
- Baby’s skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone.
- Baby’s sweat glands are developing.
Here’s what is happening with me this week:
Symptoms
- Round ligament pains have occurred several times this week. The worst was on Friday when the pain was so sudden and sharp that I fell to the floor. Of course I called the handy nurse line and they assured me that I am experiencing the very common round ligament pains which is caused from the ligaments stretching to hold the uterus and other things in my body in place.
Food Aversions
- Chicken
- Cheesy flavored foods (cheez-its or anything else with artificial cheese flavoring)
Food Cravings
- Meat
- Five Guys Hamburger (I have craved this for over a week, but have not had it! It’s so greasy, I have a feeling I would regret eating it immediately!) Update: Andrew and I went to Five Guys today and it was DELICIOUS!!
- Baked potato
- Oat Bran Cereal (I ate an entire box in 5 days. At least it’s healthy, right?)
- Skinny Cow Chocolate Fudge Bars (I eat one a day!)
Sleep
- I’m trying to get used to my pregnancy pillow, but am typically still using 3 or 4 of my normal pillows to get comfortable.
Other Updates
- Baby went on his/her third boat ride this week. We took a late night ride out on a friend’s pontoon on the Mississippi River on Wednesday night. It was a lot of fun. I think Baby Jones will love the water…we shall see! 🙂
- Baby got mad at his dad for the first time! Andrew got to see live performances by several popular musicians (including some of mom’s favorites) at the National Meeting for Target and he didn’t invite the Baby to come too. I’m pretty sure if Baby Jones could talk he/she would’ve been yelling at dad!
