Week 26

I was soooo not able to stay with my timeline of getting back on track with our weekly blog posts.  I know that many enjoy reading our weekly updates so I apologize for not keeping up iwith it.  The busy November has been harder on me than I expected!  During week 26, we drove to Wisconsin to visit Andrew’s family.  Andrew and I took off work on Friday, November 15th to get a head start on the driving.  The doctor had recommended that I stop every hour to walk around for ten minutes.  Andrew made sure we stopped often to take breaks and walk around.  Needless to say, the six hour trip took much longer and was quite uncomfortable for me.  I was definitely ready to be out of our suv by the end of the trip!

Andrew and I had a wonderful time visiting his parents and sister.  Sue and Erica hosted a beautiful “Up, Up, and Away” themed baby shower for us as well on Saturday.  It was a dreary day, but felt bright and happy in the restaurant during the shower.  We were showered once again with love, well-wishes, and gifts by so many family and friends.  Andrew and I have decided that Baby Jones is already spoiled by all the fun presents! 🙂   Here are some pictures from the Wisconsin baby shower!

With all of the hustle and bustle of traveling, we forgot to take an official week 26 baby bump photo!!!  I think the baby shower photos show my baby bump pretty well!  We’ll be back on track for week 27!

Here’s what Baby Jones is up to this week:

  • Baby is the size of a head of lettuce!
  • Baby is breathing amniotic fluid in and out which is helpful for his lung growth.
  • Baby’s eyes will open soon, but his eyelashes have already begun to grow.
  • The nerves in baby’s ears are becoming more sensitive which means he is able to hear more voices and noises.

Here’s what is happening with me this week:

Symptoms

  • I’m feeling very, very tired!  As I said earlier, the busy November month has been harder than expected on me.  Along with the stress/physical demands of teaching, I have felt pretty exhausted.
  • Mild aches and pains after sitting or standing too long.

Food Aversions

  • Chicken

Food Cravings

  • Soup
  • Dorito’s

Sleep

  • Sleep has been good, but I often wake up in the middle of the night with so many things running through my mind.  Thankfully, I’m tired enough that I eventually fall back to sleep.

Other Updates

  • Andrew’s BIG football weekend is coming up!  His best friend from college and sister are staying with us next weekend and going to the Wisconsin/Minnesota college football game.  He’s pretty excited!
